SMSDesk Privacy Policy

SMSDesk is an SMS and MMS messaging app. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it is used.

Information SMSDesk Handles

SMSDesk may access SMS and MMS messages, including sender, recipient, timestamp, read state, message text, and MMS attachment metadata. SMSDesk may also access contacts, including names, phone numbers, and contact photos, when you grant contact access.

How Information Is Used

SMSDesk uses SMS and MMS data to display conversations, send messages, mark messages read or unread, search conversations, show notifications, and create local backups when you choose to do so.

SMSDesk uses contacts to show contact names and photos, search contacts, and help select message recipients.

Optional Private Server Sync

SMSDesk does not provide a hosted SMS cloud service. SMSDesk Pro private sync sends data only to a server you choose and pair by QR code. You are responsible for operating, securing, and deleting data from your own server.

Sharing

SMSDesk does not sell personal data. SMSDesk does not share SMS, MMS, or contacts with third parties unless you enable Pro private sync or configure your own server to send Slack notifications.

Storage And Deletion

SMSDesk stores settings on your device. SMS and MMS messages are stored through Android's messaging system. You can delete conversations and local backup files. If you use private sync, delete server-side data from your own server dashboard or data volume.

Security

SMSDesk uses Android platform permissions and the default SMS role to limit access to messaging functionality. Pairing codes for the included private server are short-lived and single-use.
